Another Streak on the 8.10 from King’s Cross to Doncaster and Hull on Saturday 27th April 1963

Above: Driver George Barnes.

All photographs by Colin Walker.

Less than 10 days after his previous trip on the 8.10  Colin travelled on the same service in the cab of another A4, No. 60029 Woodcock, this time between Peterborough and Retford and, apparently, without an accompanying Loco Inspector.  His hosts were Driver George Barnes and Fireman Don Rogers.

This view is thought to be soon after departure from Grantham, approaching the site of the former Peascliffe signal box about a mile south of Peascliffe Tunnel.
